On Technosphere's day without a field trip, we decided to go Geocaching around Strasburg. Geocaching can be found online or on mobile phone apps and is a popular hobby for many people around the world. Small to large sized containers are hidden at specific locations and the coordinates are logged online on a GPS system. The system finds your current location and leads you to the hidden container like any other GPS system. Once we found the hiding spots, the containers held log books to sign and a variety of other items. We left ram pins for the next group who found the geocache and left our signatures on the log books. Not only was it a great day outside, but a perfect demonstration of how technology can be incorporated into the environment.
